Since they go to Abraham Lincoln School, First Graders study about this famous president, and they drew their own pictures of him.
Fifth Graders study about United States History, including the Revolutionary War. Here is a letter Staci wrote pretending to be a soldier in the Army:

Dear Family,

How are you doing? I'm doing fine. I think George Washington should be your leader for the Army. He is a great general to us. George is very responsible, brave, fair, honest, and trustworthy. He does his duty and helps us out. All of us keep an eye on him and see if his spirit sinks, but it never does. He never gives up. I think he would be a great leader for the Army.

Sincerely,

Soldier Staci

Sixth Graders study about the rainforest ecosystem while they are studying Latin American countries, including studying about the endangered plants and animals there. As a culminating activity they go to the Lied Jungle in Omaha. They also study the ocean ecosystem.
